Many benefit from Almaciga’s resin (sold as Manila copal and used for medicinal purposes or even manufacturing high-grade varnish), but threats like illegal logging and unsustainable harvesting classifies this native tree as ‘vulnerable’ according to IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (2011).
